Congratulations to our ‘cast of characters’ who recently walked the red carpet. The Book Character Awards were held as part of our Book Week events and celebrated characters from real and imaginary worlds. Students entered a competition by writing a persuasive piece explaining why their character deserved an award. Everyone that entered was invited to bring a friend along to attend the awards dressed as their character. They were applauded by Year 3-5 guests as they arrived and walked the red carpet. Our finalists presented their impressive speeches and following the announcement of the winners each finalist gave an acceptance speech. It was a fabulous way to celebrate book characters and enjoy a delicious morning tea together after the Primary Book Week Parade. As Mary Poppins would say; “It was perfectly perfect in every way!”
