We would love to welcome you to our next Open Day on Saturday 18 May 2024 so you can discover what makes our College the best school on the Sunshine Coast.
GCC Open Days are a fun day out for the whole family, with so many free activities for everyone to enjoy. Every year we welcome hundreds of families who come along to enjoy the day with us. New families are invited to RSVP before the day, so please return to this page closer to the day and follow the RSVP link.
The Glasshouse Christian College Open Days are always one of a kind. This fun-filled day allows you to see first-hand why so many families choose our school for their children and regularly tell us that our College is the best school on the Sunshine Coast. We would love you to bring your family, friends, neighbours and grandparents to our next Open Day on 18 May 2024.
Some of the things you can enjoy at our Open Days include: Campus tours; dance, drama and music performances; science shows and interactive displays; food trucks; coffee vans; free activities like the animal nursery, jumping castle and train rides. Be sure not to miss out on a visit to our College Farm, return to this page closer to the date to book a short ride on our College bus and experience our exciting Farm.
These are some of the exciting and delicious things that happen at our Open Days each year:
Free Animal Nursery
Take your children to the free baby animal nursery outside Prep Maroon (P3 on the map) to enjoy cuddles with these furry little critters.
Free Train Rides
The free train will take visitors on a fun ride, helping them quickly travel from the car parks right into the heart of the GCC campus.
Free Jumping Castle
Most of the Open Day stands, activities and events have a specific purpose to showcase what happens at GCC. The only purpose of the free jumping castle is for little ones to have lots of fun but we think that is a good enough reason.
New Families
GPAC
We invite everyone to tour our fantastic Performing Arts Centre and Music wing. The theatre seats almost 600 people and is on three floors! Retractable seating allows versatile functions that include dining and dancing options. The stage has built-in shock absorption and a sprung floor, there are specialised dressing rooms, an orchestra pit, Dance and Drama studios and much more. The spacious sun-lit foyer is an event space in itself with serveries opening out onto it from an industrial kitchen.
Prep
If you have children going into Prep make sure you tour our three Prep classrooms. Meet the teachers and see the rooms that have been purpose-built for this special age group. You can even visit the animal nursery outside Prep Maroon at the same time.
Robotics
Explore the fascinating world of robotics in classroom G2. You will be amazed at the technology our secondary students are able to use, preparing them for current and future jobs in multiple growth industries.
Farm Tours
Open Day is the only opportunity you will have to visit our Agricultural Science farm in Peachester. Bookings are essential and our bus will leave at set times to take you there. To avoid disappointment, you are encouraged to pre-book for this tour.
Sports Centre
Have you seen our gym and sports centre? Complete a circuit in the gym or play some volleyball with your children.
Eagle Competition
Student Voice will be running the famous 'Eagle Competition' and are also happy to take an Instagram frame photo of you and your family. These student leaders are here to help so if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask them.
