Cross Country Carnival
The GCC annual Upper Primary Cross Country Carnival for Years 3 to 6 was held earlier this term, after the initial date was rained out. Although the course was a little wet, the sun was shining, which made for a great morning of cross-country races.
Students were full of energy, determination, and perseverance as they lined up on the start line for their age-based events. The crowd cheered the racers on with House spirit, all while music pumped in the background. It was inspiring to see students supporting one another and making their best efforts to earn valuable points for their House.
A big thank you to our staff, volunteers, and families who made the day so special. Your support helped create a memorable experience for everyone involved. A special mention to Mrs Palmer and Bakani Kombani, who led the charge on their bikes as course guides for each race.
Congratulations to the House Winner, ZION. Please view the wonderful photos captured by Mrs Timmer here: Cross Country Photos and Ribbon Presentations.

District Cross Country Carnival 9-12 yrs

The Independent District Cross Country Carnival – hosted by Beerwah State High School – was a day filled with exceptional long-distance running. Despite many proud runners looking relieved to cross the finish line, our students showed drive and resilience in the hot and humid conditions.
Glasshouse Christian College (GCC) was represented by a strong team of 47 students, all of whom had earned their place through the Upper Primary Cross Country Carnival pathway. GCC placed 5th out of 11 independent schools on school points. We are incredibly proud of each student who gave their best on the day.

Early Morning Athletics Training & District Cross Country Team Training
Registered GCC students showed dedication and commitment as they prepared for the Upper Primary Athletics Carnival and the Independent Schools District Cross Country Carnival this term. Students committed to waking up early and attending morning training sessions on Thursday mornings, where they pushed themselves to train hard and fast.
The early morning sessions focused on building fitness, improving technique, and boosting confidence for these events.
After-School External Sporting Programs
This term, our students had access to an incredible range of external school programs, offering opportunities to develop new skills, stay active, and enjoy themselves. There truly was something for everyone, with a wide variety of options available, including:
Skating with Coach Kodan – Learning the fundamentals of skating in a fun, supportive environment.

TWP Tennis – Developing tennis skills while being active and having fun with peers

Netball Lightning (Years 3–6) – Fast-paced, competitive action for our netball enthusiasts.
NRL Development Program – A chance for students to build rugby skills in a structured, safe and engaging program.

AFL Auskick – Teaching the basics of Australian Rules Football in a beginner-friendly way.
Brisbane Active Roar (Soccer) – Exciting soccer training sessions focused on skill development and teamwork.
These programs have provided a fantastic opportunity for students to explore new sports, make new friends, and build their skills across a variety of activities, all while taking place right on the College’s doorstep.
Independent District Touch Football
Mr. Bennett and Mrs. Stott made a strong duo as they took on the district coaching and managing role for the 10-12 years Girls’ Touch team. They selected a total of twelve girls from Matthew Flinders Anglican College, Sunshine Coast Grammar School, St. Andrews Lutheran College and Caloundra Christian College to represent the Independent District at the Regional Carnival. Their team played hard to win five of their six games.
