Nicole Morris showed her football skills, strength on the ball and her ability to read the game when she played in the recent 15 Girls Qld Schools State Football Championships held in Hervey Bay. She was selected in the Sunshine Coast team and won every game at the state championships except the final. The team finished Runners Up State Champions which was a fantastic achievement.
The Sunshine Coast team did not have a goal scored against them until the final – having the best defensive record at the carnival. The semi final against Met West was a very close game ending 0-0 at full time. The game went straight to a penalty shootout which Sunshine Coast won after our goal keeper saved two penalty shots.
The final against Met North was a very close game with Sunshine Coast having the majority of the chances to score. Unfortunately Met North scored a goal into the wind, winning the game 1- 0.
Mrs Stott was the manager of this team so could celebrate winning the silver medal with Nicole. Nicole played strongly in every game, putting some fantastic crosses in which led to goals being scored. Nicole also scored a beautiful goal herself from quite a distance out. Mrs Stott and Nicole both very much enjoyed being part of this team of fantastic young talented football players. Four Sunshine Coast players were selected for the Qld State Meritorious Team.
