Lily Short continues to be the one to watch in the Junior Equestrian scene. Lily has recently competed in the Interschool Queensland Equestrian State Championships and has qualified to compete at the prestigious 2021 Australian Interschool Equestrian Championships.
Lily rode her two horses in four different classes at the State Titles held in Maryborough. Lily won the title of Primary State Champion for a second year winning the 70cm division comfortably.
Lily also rode in the higher jump heights of 80cm and 90cm with older competitors and finished 4th in both these classes. This was an outstanding achievement and gained her selection into the Queensland Team. The National Championships which will be held in Victoria has been postponed until November and Lily is very keen to compete this year as the same event was cancelled last year due to Covid.
These results reflect the hard work Lily puts into her training and care for her horses. I am sure the Equestrian events at the Olympics have made her even more determined to succeed in her sport.
