Last term, our Silver Duke of Edinburgh students took off on an epic three-day adventure through the beautiful Gold Coast Hinterland, and it was an experience to remember!
Day 1 started with a bus ride to Springbrook National Park, where we explored the stunning Purling Brook Falls. The views were absolutely breathtaking, and the students loved wandering through the lush landscapes. We also visited Natural Bridge, a cool rock formation surrounded by dense forest. The scenery was out of this world, and it was awesome to see the students fully soaking it all in.
On Day 2, the real challenge began with an 18km hike along the Taloona Creek Circuit. It was tough, but the students smashed it, supporting each other the whole way. The hike took us through incredible landscapes, and though it was a long day, everyone felt proud of what they’d achieved by the end.
Day 3 was all about exploring the Tree Tops at O’Reilly’s, where we got to walk through the forest canopy. It was a pretty unique experience and a perfect way to wrap up the journey before heading home on the bus.
The highlights? Watching the students grow a genuine love for nature and adventure, seeing friendships strengthen as they helped each other through the hikes, and of course, our nights around the campfire – full of fun games and some great chats about life and God. It was such a special time for everyone involved, and we couldn’t be prouder of how the students embraced the journey and each other.
It was more than just a hike – it was a chance to connect, grow, and create memories that will last a lifetime!
