The last day of Term 2 saw the culmination of the Year 7 Unit, Songs of the South Land, with the ‘Streamys’ Awards.
Throughout the term, students explored special places in Ancient Australia, from the iconic Uluru to our own Glasshouse Mountains. Each team was then asked to create a spoken word poem on a special place of their own and create a video clip of them performing it. Students chose special holiday places, school, their bedroom, and even inside their mind!
The clips were placed on a private Glasshouse YouTube channel and teams marketed their clips to see who could get the most views and likes within the week.
The Year 7s then dressed up as rockstars to walk down the red carpet and view their nominated clips at the ‘Streamys’ Awards. Congratulations to Team 13’s ‘Ngun Ngun’ for Best Spoken Word and Team 4’s ‘The Power of One’ for their overall winning clip!
