GCCC vs Pacific Lutheran College

The Year 7/8 girls played Pacific Lutheran College in a friendly game of Soccer on the Friday of week 4. Our girls were nervous at first as many had not played before and their opponents looked very good. When the game commenced our girls took to soccer like they had been playing for years. They performed superbly as a team and represented Glasshouse Christian College with pride. It was a pleasure to watch. At the end of the game our girls had won 3 – 2. Congratulations to all players, especially Jayde Curtis who scored two of our three goals. We may see more of Jayde in the next World Cup!soccer

The boys’ team put up a valiant effort against an experienced PLC outfit. Our boys were unable to get in front despite the hard work of the midfielders in particular Harrison Still.

The Volleyball games were very close affairs. One of our teams finished in front 2 sets to 1 and our second girl’s team lost in very close circumstances.

All of our sports teams involved in the Friday competition did so with enthusiasm. We are looking forward to upcoming competition with Suncoast Christian College in week 7 as well as our Softball teams competing in the Glasshouse competition later this term in week 5, 7 and 8.

Wakeboarding and Fishing

This term we have also had a Year 7/8 group venturing to “Go Wake” at Bli Bli to participate in fishingWakeboarding and Fishing. Students have taken to Skiing like a ducks to water and it is impressive to see many students managing to complete multiple laps of the lake on both the Kneeboards and Wakeboards.

The reel drags have been screaming among the fishing group as they have recorded great results with both barramundi and bream.

Well done to Emerson Grange who last week hooked this large bream.

The first photo below shows excited students getting ready for take-off and the second one shows Anton Ryan wakeboarding like a pro.
