Enjoying the sun, playing in the waves and being taught about beach safety by our wonderful Kings Beach Surf Life Savers! Last week Year 5 were blessed to spend the day at the beach, it was such a great day!
We arrived at Kings Beach and were straight away put into groups and taken down onto the beach. The Surf Life Savers had set up a range of activities, similar to those that the “Nippers” do when they train to be Surf Life Savers. We had beach relays and boogie boarding. We learned how to save people by using the flotation belts. Dolphin diving and running through the waves were also lots of fun.
Living so close to some of Australia’s most beautiful beaches is a blessing, however, it can also be a danger. So we really appreciated this opportunity to go to the beach and find out about beach safety.
