Our Year 4 students recently enjoyed an unforgettable camp at Luther Heights in Coolum, filled with adventure, learning and plenty of fun. With beautiful weather throughout the camp, students were able to make the most of the wonderful outdoor environment and all the activities on offer.
One of the highlights of the camp was learning to surf and bodyboard at the beach. Many students tried surfing for the first time and were thrilled to catch their very first waves. It took courage to step into the surf and give something new a try, but with encouragement from teachers and instructors, students showed great determination and excitement as they built their confidence in the water.
Back at the camp, students challenged themselves on the flying fox, soaring through the air while their classmates cheered them on. For some, this was a moment of real bravery as they pushed past their comfort zones. The team challenges were another favourite activity, where Year 4 students demonstrated excellent teamwork. Working together, they encouraged one another, shared ideas and showed that great things can be achieved through a strong team effort.
Of course, all that activity worked up big appetites! The camp food was fantastic and kept everyone well-fuelled for each busy day.
Throughout the camp, students discovered they are capable of more than they first thought. By showing courage, supporting their classmates and working as a team, they learned that stepping outside their comfort zone can lead to new skills, confidence and wonderful memories.
All had a wonderful time, and we extend a big thank you to the amazing Luther Heights staff for making this such a memorable and rewarding experience for our Year 4 students.
