Year 3 were fortunate enough to take a trip to Australia Zoo this week. In Science this term, we have been learning about the classification of living things.
We started our trip at the zoo with a tribe talk where we were taught about some different ways that animals can be classified. We took a closer look at mammals, amphibians, birds, reptiles and fish and what characteristics make them what they are.
Later we explored the zoo, finding animals of all shapes and sizes. A few of our favourites were the meerkats, lemars, and tigers. We also got to pat some adorable Kangaroos!
We ended the day watching the spectacular show at the Crocoseum where we watched in awe at the super speedy birds and the enormous crocodile! We were very lucky that the rain held off until we boarded the bus with some very tired students, parents and teachers at the end of the day. A fun day was had by all!
