Year 12 Mystery Bus Tour

Glasshouse Christian College recently ran its third annual overnight MYSTERY BUS TOUR after the College Formal for the Year 12 students.

Instead of kids getting caught up in the after formal party, the College wanted to organise a mystery bus tour for the Year 12s after the Formal as an alternative activity. Students and parents can then make a choice. It was pleasing to have 42 students take up this alternative.

This was a voluntary event and it was up to the students to decide if they wished to join the bus tour. As this was a school-run event and excursion, it was a drug and alcohol-free event, where students were fully supervised by attending teachers. The College very generously subsidised the tour and students paid $30 each to attend this event.

First stop was at Game Over on the Gold Coast. For two hours students had unlimited access to indoor karting, laser tag and climbing walls. Second stop was The Pancake Manor in Brisbane for an early morning feed. The third stop was atop Mt Cootha to see the sunrise, with the last stop a bacon and egg breakfast (with coffee!) held at Settlement Cove, Redcliffe.

The bus tour was generously supported by local businesses. We had nearly $1500 worth of goods and vouchers donated from local businesses. These were used for prizes throughout the bus trip. It was very much appreciated to have so many businesses support the tour.

We would like to make special mention of our generous sponsors:  Andrew Powell MP, Banjo’s Beerwah, Bargain Max Beerwah, Beerwah Amcal Pharmacy, Beerwah Flowers and gifts, Beerwah Hair and Beauty, Beerwah Newsagency, Coffee Club Beerwah, Colour Queens Hairstyles, Coochin Creek Fruitgrowers Coop, Daughters of Hope Inc., Frankie Js Pizza and Pasta, Hello Harry’s Birtinya, Hello Harry’s Caloundra, Meat at Landsborough, Milano Gelateria Caloundra, Neddy’s Nosebag Beerwah, Optus/Network Communications in Maroochydore, Stirling Legal Group, Subway Beerwah, V8 Supercuts and Vianta Café.
