On Monday and Tuesday, our 16 College Captains travelled to Alexandra Headland for an overnight camp to focus on the year ahead. 2020 is a significant year for our Year 12s. Not only is it their final year of school, it is also the first year to go through the new Senior curriculum as well as being the 20th year of the College. Our Captains were keen to see 2020 as one of the best years of the College. Mr Curtis led the first session and later, after spending some time in prayer and being led with devotions by our Pastors Syd and Fi, the Captains came to a united opinion that our theme verse should be 1 Corinthians 16:13 “Watch, stand firm in the faith! Be brave. Be strong.”
As a motto, the Captains chose “People over projects”.
In their areas of responsibility, the Captains considered strategies they could implement this year to help build genuine Christian community across the year levels.
This Year 12 cohort is a remarkable group and their elected Captains of Sport and Houses, Faith and Community, The Arts and College Captains will serve this community with courage, conviction and compassion. Please remember to pray for our students in 2020!
