The Year 10 cohort has embraced the transition into Senior School with enthusiasm and dedication this year. It has been a dynamic and engaging term, filled with new subjects and the excitement of choosing individual pathways for the final years of schooling.
We started the term with a Launch into Senior School Day, a fantastic event that included a swim at the pool, team-building activities, and an inspiring session with Peter Jenetski. He shared valuable insights on developing a strong ‘Pit Crew’—choosing the right friends and mentors to support the senior school journey.
Despite our best-laid plans, Cyclone Alfred unexpectedly disrupted work experience for most students. However, we are pleased to share that for some, we will be able to reschedule this opportunity in Term 4, ensuring they still gain valuable hands-on experience.
Looking ahead, we are preparing for another exciting term. In Week 1 of Term 2, we head to camp at Lennox Heads, a highlight for students to strengthen friendships and challenge themselves. Following this, we will dive into our Service Projects, a core part of our mission to bless our school and the wider community. The Class of 2027 is committed to leaving a legacy that will endure for generations to come.
We finished the term in the perfect way—celebrating the upcoming birth of Steve and Jess Libby’s baby. Mr Libby is a valuable member of our pastoral care team, and it was wonderful to mark this special occasion with fun games, delicious food, and thoughtful gifts. The celebration was a heartfelt way to bring our community together and show our support for the Libby family.
We are proud of the way Year 10 has stepped into Senior School life and look forward to seeing them continue to grow and thrive in the coming terms!
