What an incredible couple of weeks for the Ag Department! Farm and Feed Day, Open Day, Rural Ops Team visit to UQ, amazing new uniforms, and the first stages of Launch Pad-dock initiated!
Farm and Feed Day saw parents and community members enjoy an informative Ag Farm Tour with a sumptuous lunch prepared by the Hospitality staff, as well as the grand unveiling of the new Aggies uniform.

The Special Forces Rural Ops Team that are studying their Cert II on top of usual studies had the most incredible day out at UQ Gatton undertaking their practical skills learning and assessment for stock management. They got to work hands on mustering and drafting cattle and sheep on the UQ Gatton farm. Such an incredible program!

Finally, Operation Launch Pad-dock has been initiated! This is AGSIP funded project through their Exploring Frontiers with AgTech program, which aims to increase technology adoption on farms and see developers have a space to trial and showcase their Ag-Tech. The first stage is the automation of the irrigation which will see each pump and irrigation valves being operated using an app and be triggered by moisture sensors in different areas. There will also be an automated fertigation system that will enable fertiliser to be pumped through the irrigation automatically when required. Looking forward to getting all this in place over the coming year.
