The Humanities Department is delighted to welcome Brock Westbrook to GCC as a new History and Legal Studies teacher. 

I have no doubt Brock will be a wonderful addition to our team, bringing both a genuine love of history and a heart for discipleship into the classroom. Over to Brock to introduce himself in his own words:

Hello! My name is Brock Westbrook, and I am excited to be joining GCC as a History and Legal Studies teacher.

Having previously taught in the state education system, I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to teach at a Christian school where I can openly integrate my faith with my passion for education. Being able to view learning through the lens of Christ is a privilege, and I look forward to encouraging students both academically and personally.

Outside the classroom, I enjoy keeping busy with camping, travelling and, whenever I get the chance, fishing. If I’m not planning my next camping trip, you’ll probably find me reading about history or exploring somewhere new.

As a history teacher, I genuinely love everything about history. More than simply learning about the past, I believe history equips students with lifelong skills: asking thoughtful questions, thinking critically, evaluating evidence and refusing to accept information at face value. In a world saturated with misinformation, where confidence and popularity can sometimes overshadow truth, these skills have never been more important. My hope is that every student leaves my classroom better equipped to discern truth, think independently and engage thoughtfully with the world around them.

I am looking forward to getting to know the students, partnering with families and becoming part of the wonderful GCC community.
