Last weekend our Year 8 girls volleyball team competed at the Queensland Schools State Championships. This was the first state level competition the girls have participated in. We placed them in the second division and they came away finishing runner up in the grand final with a well deserved silver medal.

This year we have entered three teams across Middle School into the State Championships and we have come away with two silver medals and a 7th place. My Year 9 boys’ team is currently number two in the state. This is a testament to the program that we as HPE staff have created here at GCC and we are fast becoming a force to be reckoned with not only on the Sunshine Coast but in the whole state of Queensland. I am very excited for the opportunities this will bring GCC in the future.
