Did you know that the Sea Star spits out its stomach to eat algae off a rock and then pulls its stomach back in again? That was one of the amazing facts Year 5 found out last Monday when Richard from Ocean Life and all of his amazing sea creatures came to visit us.
We are learning about the special features that animals have to help them survive in their environment, so Richard was able to show and tell us all about how his creatures survive in their habitat.
We met Bob the Baby Brown Banded Bamboo shark, Dale the turtle, some starfish, some sea cucumbers and even some sea urchins!
It was an amazing morning where we learned a lot about many different creatures and Richard was so knowledgeable, that we were able to ask him lots of questions. We also learned the terrible fate of a sea turtle when it is unfortunate enough to swallow a plastic bag, so please remember to put all of your rubbish in the bin or recycle!
