This week our Year 4-6 students were treated to a virtual visit with author Tristan Bancks who ‘zoomed’ in from Sydney to join us for three lively sessions. While a virtual author visit is limited to a screen, Tristan inspired the students and led highly engaging sessions, each tailored to the interests of the year level. As a master storyteller, he captivated the audiences from start to finish, sharing valuable tips about the writing process and his own laugh-out-loud experiences, as well as book trailers and a read aloud from his latest book Ginger Meggs. Tristan is the great-great-nephew of the original Ginger Meggs creator Jimmy Bancks and the release of the four brand new and original stories written by Tristan Bancks and illustrated by the comic strip artist, Jason Chatfield, celebrate 100 years of the iconic character and Aussie legend Ginger Meggs.
