“The Land is in Roberts Road”

A 25-Year History of Glasshouse Christian College

On Saturday, 17 May 2025, during Glasshouse Christian College’s annual Open Day, we officially launched our commemorative 25th anniversary history book, The Land is in Roberts Road: A 25-Year Journey.

This beautifully produced publication captures the remarkable story of how a bold vision — rooted in faith, perseverance, and community spirit — gave rise to one of the Sunshine Coast hinterland’s most respected Colleges.

More than a timeline of dates and milestones, The Land is in Roberts Road explores the heart and humanity of the College’s journey. From humble beginnings in 2000 with just 15 students and two demountable classrooms, the story unfolds across the years to today’s thriving campus of nearly 1200 students and state-of-the-art facilities.

What sets this book apart is its depth. It traces the College’s roots even before its official opening, documenting the early advocacy, planning, and faith-filled determination that led to its foundation. The book continues through to 2024, offering a vivid account of our first 25 years in operation.

Key highlights include:

  • Archival material and photographs never before published
  • Personal stories and reflections from past and present staff, students, and families
  • A focus on leadership through the years, including College Captains and Alumni
  • Recognition of students who spent their entire schooling at GCC
  • Timeline of building progress and facilities

Designed as a coffee table keepsake, the book is filled with full-colour spreads, candid snapshots, and curated content that brings the College’s history to life for both long-time community members and those newly discovering the College’s story.

The Land is in Roberts Road: A 25-Year Journey is available now for $25 — a dollar for each year since the College began. This is a not-for-profit, cost-price publication, created to celebrate and preserve our shared history.

Copies can be purchased from the College Main Administration or from the Uniform Shop.

Own a piece of local history — and celebrate 25 years of faith, learning, and community.
