During the lead up to Open Day the Interior Fashion and Design students have been making pencil cases to be given out to disadvantaged children in Fiji during the Fiji Mission Trip. On Open Day all visitors were invited to make a pencil case for a child in Fiji and it was a very successful project.
The pencil cases were made with donated fabric from Millhouse Collections and this resulted in beautiful but empty pencil cases. IFD teacher Primrose Kombanie went to work and soon the College was blessed with enough donations to fill all the pencil cases.
A big thank you to United Office Choice who gave 70 packs of colouring pencils, 100 double sharpeners and 5 packets of lead pencils. The donated products amount to $465.00 and we are very grateful for their generosity.
