Term 4: Learning Beyond the Classroom

Over the past fortnight, Glasshouse Christian College has played host to a series of remarkable events, marking some of the most significant moments of the year. These activities not only showcased the talents of our students but also underscored the broader educational experience we aim to provide at GCC.

The performances, events and presentation ceremonies are platforms for our students to cultivate confidence, teamwork, and the understanding that dedication pays off. Beyond the stage, our community engagement events and fundraisers have instilled values of respect, historical awareness, and compassion for others.

With fifteen major events crammed into a mere 14 days, it was a busy time where the learning experience at GCC extended far beyond the classroom. While core subjects and traditional teaching remain integral, our commitment is to graduate students who are well-rounded individuals, equipped to make meaningful contributions to their communities and in their chosen paths.

Fifteen big events in 14 days means that I don’t have space to go into the details here but I hope you have been following our socials and enjoying the photos there and on Pixevety. However, I would like to publicly recognise some of our students who earned special awards this year.

Big News for the P and F

In the spirit of big events, we are thrilled to welcome Amanda Masterson as our incoming P and F President. Amanda brings with her a wealth of experience, enthusiasm, and a shared commitment to fostering a strong sense of community within our school. We look forward to embarking on this exciting journey with Amanda at the helm. I would also like to acknowledge Tracey Charleson as the outgoing President for the fantastic job that she did in the role over the last two years.

A big thank you to all of our volunteers for the work they have done for the College this year. We appreciate your hard work and dedication to making GCC a GREAT College.

One more week to go

As the school year draws to a close and holidays beckon, these last few days are a good time to reflect on the incredible moments shared, lessons learned, and bonds formed. May this time be filled with laughter, relaxation, and cherished moments with loved ones.

Our Bible verse for 2023 has been, “Taste and see that the Lord is good” from Pslam 34:8. I hope that you will have the opportunity to embrace this verse over the coming weeks and see for yourself how good God is.

Here’s to a fantastic holiday season and the promise of a remarkable year ahead!
