Last Thursday, 26 February, the Sunshine Coast Indoor Sport Network Plan 2026 was unanimously endorsed at Council’s Ordinary Meeting.

The indoor sport network plan provides strategic direction for the planning, advocacy and facilitation of much needed indoor sport facilities across the Sunshine Coast over the next 15 years to 2041.

Call to action where we need your support

Indoor courts across the Sunshine Coast are full – and we’re now 15 courts short. Without action, that gap will grow to 40+ courts in the next 20 years!

We’re calling on clubs, associations, community groups, players, families, community members and sports lovers across the region to help us rally support for a new 12 court indoor sports centre.

A new indoor sports centre means:

– More opportunities for everyone to get involved in their sport of choice

– Modern, accessible courts

– Space for year-round training and comps

– Facilities that support parasport

– Room for growing sports like basketball, netball, futsal and pickleball.

Sunshine Coast Council is asking for funding support from the Australian and Queensland Governments so our community can see this project kick-off.
