On 5 and 6 May, the Glasshouse Christian College Middle and Senior School Dance Troupes competed at the local Sunshine Coast Dance Eisteddfod at The Events Centre, Caloundra.
The Middle School students competed on Thursday with their four dances: a musical theatre, contemporary, lyrical and jazz. These girls competed in massive sections of 25 different schools from around the South East Coast. The girls had an incredible and fun day coming away with 5th in their musical theatre number, Welcome To Wonderland and placing above 80 points for all of their dances.
The Seniors attended the Eisteddfod on the Friday with an early start. These girls also competed in four dances, musical theatre, lyrical, contemporary and jazz. Like the Middle School students, each section had around 25 competitors resulting in very tough competition.
The day was long but it was very rewarding to perform their dances for the first time this year at a competition. The girls had a lot of fun being able to perform on stage again after a couple of years of disrupted competitions due to COIVD. Every senior dance scored over 84 points which has been a massive achievement. All of the girls are excited about the upcoming competition in the next couple of weeks to take the opportunity to perform and compete again.
