After some amazing performances at the Sunshine Coast Regional Schools Athletics Carnival last week we had four athletes qualify for the State Championships in October.
Sophie Doyle won the 11 girls 1500m and Tetrathlon and finished a very close second in the 800m event.
Estah Muller threw really well and placed second in both the 12 girls’ shot and discus competitions.
17-year-old Joshua McKellar had the competition of his schooling life and threw the 4kg shot a massive 12.93m shot to qualify for the State Champs for the first time.
Emma Small had a busy carnival and won the 17 girls javelin event just missing qualifying distances in her other events.
We are very excited for these students who train hard and are looking forward to competing in the State Championships.
