G’day everyone, and welcome to 2017! It looks to be an exciting year for the Student Voice with Ellen Byrne and Jesse Woods holding co-presidency of the council.
This year we have 26 keen students on board, ready to support and unite the students of GCC – the best that we can. This is such an increase from last year, and even more so than the year before, and it’s astounding how many students we have all of a sudden, wanting to help us out!
We are making the Student Voice a little more professional this year and in doing so our ‘Executive Team’, formed through nomination and voting, consists of Co-Presidents of Ellen and Jesse; Secretary and Vice-Secretary are the Sister Act, Alisha and Sarah Mens, and the Fabulous Finance team, comprising of Rory Tait, Jayde Curtis and Kacey Dickens. Lacey Hall, Kirra Dodwell and Kacey Dickens complete our marketing team, and keeping our fans updated on our actions in both the newsletter and the student notices is, in fact, me! There are many students so far that have not yet been given a specific role, however this isn’t a worry, because as they say, many hands make light work!
So far, our confirmed events for this year include The Night of Talent, which was a great success in previous years, and gets bigger and better each year with so many people ready to show off their wonderful and wacky talents. We certainly hope that TNT will be as awesome as it was last year, if not more so!
Keep your eyes peeled in the newsletters and notices for more information on what the Student Voice is doing for the students… by the students.
