We had a wonderful time in Kitchen Garden making these very easy and very yummy strawberry tarts, using the strawberries from our garden.  The children loved them and it was fun to make something different. The simple recipe is below.

In the garden, we have pulled out our potatoes and it is always so wonderful to see the excitement on the children’s faces when they find a potato buried in the garden.
The garden beds are being prepared for melon seeds and corn to go in. We have also planted some sunflowers to add a splash of colour to our gardens.

Strawberry Tarts Recipe

Ingredients

Puff pastry
Strawberries
Whipped cream
Mint

Method

Cut puff pastry into small squares and put on a tray lined with baking paper.
In the centre of each square, place cut up strawberries.
Cook in the oven on 180c for 15 to 20 minutes.
Cool on tray and then serve with whipped cream and a garnish of mint sprinkled on top.
