Sunshine Coast Secondary Schools Basketball
Four out of five teams began their campaigns in the Sunshine Coast Secondary Schools Basketball Competition being played at various venues on Friday nights in Term 3.
Intermediate Girls (Year 9/10), coached by former student Josh Andrews, lost narrowly to PLC. Our French exchange student, Alice, was fantastic. Brianna Bottrill was good as well, but fouled out.
Senior Girls (Year 11/12), coached by Michelle Follet, dominated Siena and won easily. Megan Kennedy played very well. Tenaia Owens shot an awesome (albeit slightly lucky three-pointer) and Elise Ellwood played her first ever game.
Senior A Boys (Year 11/12), coached by James Follet and Russell Modlin, played a good first half but faded in the second. The loss of Joseph Oxenham for the season will be disappointing. Isaiah Bottrill scored 22 points. Lachlan Kelly and Oskar Burkhardt played their first games for the College.
Senior B Boys (Year 11/12), coached by James Follet and Russell Modlin, were beaten easily but never gave up and played awesome defense, but just couldn’t get scoreboard pressure going.
Intermediate Boys (Year 9/10), coached by Mr Phil Andrews, begin their campaign this Friday night.
