Sophie Doyle and Estah Muller were very proud to represent the Sunshine Coast at the Qld School Sport Athletics Championships last week in Brisbane.
Sophie qualified for the State Championships after running a fantastic 1500m race at the Regional Championships where she placed 3rd. Sophie has trained hard to compete in both State Cross Country and 800m and 1500m track races. In the State 10-year girls 1500 race, Sophie run aggressively and challenged the top athletes in the state finishing 4th in her heat. When all times were considered, Sophie finished 11th in Queensland from the field of 30 very talented athletes which was a fantastic result.
Estah Muller finished second in the 11-year girls’ discus event at the Regional Champs to qualify for the State Championships. Esther has been improving all year and she threw the discus 3 metres further at the State Championships to finish 14th in the state – another fantastic result. Her technique is smooth and effective and she is looking forward to continuing success as the Little Athletics season approaches.
We look forward to following the results of these talented girls over the next few years.
