SHEP – State Honours Ensemble Program

SHEP – State Honours Ensemble Program, Conservatorium of Music, Griffith University – 27-28 November 2021

In the words of Oliver Dalleau, William Reid, Zac Nyenhof and Archie Cruise, the two-day SHEP workshop at the Queensland Conservatorium was a great experience and they are very grateful for the opportunity. Oliver conveyed “It was fun meeting new kids from all around South East Queensland and getting to play in an orchestra with the best of the best. I was really proud to represent our College”. Archie’s reflection describes the two 10-hour days of playing the trumpet alongside professional musicians as an absolute privilege.

Being nominated by Miss Hilton, these instrumental students were given this opportunity due to their dedication to their instrument and showing future potential. Of the 3500 applicants, only 1020 students were chosen to participate.
