Seven of our Glasshouse Christian College students battled it out last weekend at the Queensland Oztag Junior State Cup competing against teams from Townsville through to the Gold Coast. Ella McKenzie and Hadley Smith represented the Caloundra Jets U10 Girls whilst Jett Smith played a pivotal role in the U11 Boys team. Both teams had an amazing weekend defeating team after team and making it through to nail-biting semi-finals which unfortunately both teams lost. Finishing in the top four was a great achievement.
Charlie Barons, Jackson Greig, Kai Carter and Conner Bound made up a big part of the Maroochydore Suns U11 Boys and showed that their hard work and dedication paid off, smashing their competition and finishing on top as U11 Boys champions. Their final was also nail-biting with the game going into extra time and still being drawn. Only 5 players competed in another golden point extra time with the Maroochy boys scoring and winning the title!
Well done to all players and parents who were involved, we are very proud of your achievements.
Nadia Smith
