We’ve just finished our Pyjama Day and it was a tremendous success.
Congratulations to the Primary SRC for an excellent event and to all our students and families for getting on board and supporting this worthy cause.
This year, in our Primary Assemblies, we have been talking about the theme of ‘Living a Generous Life’.
We have discussed this in a variety of ways. Being generous with our belongings, time, effort, words and more.
I think that generosity and learning that our words and actions can have a huge impact on those around us, especially those less fortunate than us, is a vital experience for young people to see.
Days like ‘Pyjama Day’ are a key learning experience where our young people can see this in action.
Today we had over 400 pairs of pyjamas and $1200 donated and given to two shelters based on the Sunshine Coast.
Representatives from both Sunnykids and Sonshine Sanctuary came along to our chapel services today and we presented them with our donations.
In these moments, our students get to see first-hand the difference that their generosity makes.
Thank you to all the families that generously donated to today’s event. I am always amazed at how our community rallies behind causes like this, which then makes a huge difference to so many people, whilst educating our students about such important life lessons.
