This week as we reflected on our 2020 reading achievements, we were amazed to see that GCC students had read over and above the levels attained last year. In the midst of a challenging year this is testament to the dedication of our staff, students and their families in promoting reading at home and school. Year 3-9 students read a combined total of 75,141,953 words and completed 17,744 quizzes on the Literacy Pro program.
The following Year 3-6 students have been recognised for their Lexile growth, points earned or words read with a Literacy Pro Principal’s Award. It’s always wonderful to celebrate the students’ achievements in this way and to acknowledge their outstanding commitment to reading. A link to a video celebrating these award winners has been posted on Gateway.
