Exciting day for budding new Year 4 Instrumentalists
Eighty two very excited and enthusiastic year 4 students were issued with their musical instruments this week. Students will now spend the rest of the year being tutored to play their instruments using the correct technique, reading music and playing within an ensemble or band.
Learning an instrument requires commitment and students are encouraged to practice a minimum of 10 minutes per day for 5 days per week. A Practice Journal has been supplied to each student to record their efforts, with an opportunity for self-assessment and parent comment.
TIP – Students should pack their instrument, Practice Journal and Music Book (to be issued week 2) at the front door (or the door you exit) on Monday night so that they don’t forget to bring them for their lesson each Tuesday.
If you or your child has any questions at all please do not hesitate to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Year 5 Instrumental Extension Students
This week also saw many of our instrumental program students from last semester continue with their chosen instruments in small groups designed to further their skills and understanding. These students are now committed members of the Primary Band and will be practicing for their debut performance at our Arts night ‘SHINE’ on 21 August.
