First Independent District Carnival for the Year
GCC students participated in the first Independent District Carnival for the year. GCC has now crossed over to the association of the Independent District rather than previously being affiliated within the Glasshouse District. The District Swimming Team swam hard and fast against tough competition from other students from schools such as Sunshine Coast Grammar School, St Andrews and Matthew Flinders Anglican College just to name a few of the colleges. The Independent District Carnival was held at Sunshine Coast Grammar.

Week 4 saw the conclusion of the Early Morning Swim Program. Thanks to the GCC Sport Coaches along with Mrs. Stott for assisting students in developing their swim confidence and technique. With over 35 students registered in the swimming program it was a great success.
Week 5 kicked off the Early Morning Cross Country Program. Over 40 students from year 3-6 are registered in the program. Once again the GCC Fitness and Running coaches have sprinted into an awesome first day of training with students.
SCISSA Friendly #1 Vs Sunshine Coast Grammar School
GCC played their first Friendly Match against Sunshine Coast Grammar School during week 5. All teams played extremely well and have developed their skills during such a short season. Touch Football, Soccer and Basketball headed off on buses to play their opposition at Grammar, while GCC hosted Rugby Union, Netball, Cricket and Olympic Handball teams.
