A warm welcome back for Term 2. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces flood into school last week on Tuesday. Everyone looked relaxed and happy to be back, ready to take on the challenges of another term. I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday, spending precious time with family and friends.
As a community, we started the term with a very special ANZAC service and many of our students joined with other schools and community groups for the ANZAC Day parade in Beerwah. I was so proud of our students who walked proudly and respectfully. I would also like to thank the many families who supported this strong tradition of ours.
This term there is a great deal of excitement as our new music block is open and all of the Primary music classes, choir practices and itinerant music lessons are now taking place in this beautiful facility.
Term 2 heralds the time of year where the warmest days are behind us and the days are gradually becoming cooler and shorter leading into winter. As such, there may be some uniform items that you will need to purchase from the uniform shop. All students are required to wear the correct school uniform and these details, together with the uniform shop trading hours, can be found on the College website here.
As winter approaches this is also a good time to remind all families to please keep children who are unwell at home, giving them time to recover but also helping to make sure that we keep everyone as well as possible.
There are many exciting events taking place this term and we are set for another busy term. Some of the events planned include the Prep – 2 Mother’s Day Night and Chapel, Open Day, Prep – 2 Cross Country and Grandparents Day. Please keep your eye on the school calendar located on the College website for all the details and keep a look out for emails with further information.
Once again, welcome back to everyone in our College community and I look forward to sharing in many wonderful moments with our students, teachers, parents and staff over the next few months.
