TEKKIE BREKKIE – TEACHERS AS LIFE LONG LEARNERS
Last Thursday at 7.30 am a number of teachers gathered in Mrs Beaden’s room for a quick breakfast and then a presentation of computer programmes which can be used in the classroom to enhance learning. Mrs Beaden who is our Primary Education Technology Support Teacher demonstrated ways these programmes could be used by teachers and students alike.
These Tekkie Brekkies will be regular events for our primary teachers who are always ready and willing to increase the use of technology and improve the delivery of curriculum using our IT devices. GCCC is on the cutting edge in terms of the number of iPads and Macbooks in the classrooms and our students are blessed to have such an advantage in having such access to IT on a daily basis for lessons. This experience with IT will open many doors for them not just in their secondary years, but as they seek employment opportunities as young men and women in the future.

PARENT PIPELINE – REQUESTS FOR SESSIONS ON SPELLING STRATEGIES AND WORDS THEIR WAY
We will be presenting two sessions on spelling strategies and Words Their Way to enable parents/caregivers to support what we are doing here at school and to assist children with their homework spelling each week. Have you ever wondered what CVC, CVCC or CCVC means? Come along to the next Parent Pipeline and you will find out about this and how knowing spelling strategies can help students to spell so many more words than simply those on the spelling list for that week. Details of these Parent Pipeline sessions will be emailed soon.
THE FORMAL INVITATION AND RSVP WILL COME OUT SOON |
