Another week is almost over and we have nearly reached the midway mark of Term 1. The children are now settled in classes and relationships between friends and with teachers continues to flourish and grow.

VOLUNTEER INDUCTION:

I would like to thank the huge team of parents and caregivers who have come forward and offered their time to help in classes this year.

The next Volunteers Induction is on Friday 22 February at 2pm in the Primary staffroom in N Block. If you have not been able to attend one of the induction sessions held this week we will be holding an evening session soon. We will share details with you as soon as a date has been confirmed.

 Before school arrangements – a reminder

Students should only arrive at school from 8:00am each day. Helping Hands is available for parents who need to drop children at school before 8:00am.

Prep – Year 2 students

Parents are welcome to supervise their students on play equipment before school. Early bus students will simply sit on the seats and wait for the duty person to arrive at 8:00am. When the bell rings Prep students will be taken by this staff member safely to their Prep classrooms. Prep students are welcome to wait at the front of the Prep buildings if supervised by a parent or caregiver. If students are dropped off before 8:25am, please use the JUA and a staff member will walk the students to the classroom at first bell.

Upper Primary students should not be in this area in the morning and they should not be left to supervise younger siblings.

Years 3 – 6 students

Year 3 – 6 students must take their bag to the bag racks outside their classroom and then go immediately to the undercover area where they may play. A staff member will be on duty there. The new sports centre will also be open in the mornings and students may go up to the northern oval and sports centre when the duty teacher arrives. The library is also open from 8:00am. The veranda is out of bounds for students except for quickly placing their bag in the rack before moving off to play.

School photos – Wednesday 27 February

This is just a reminder that Primary School photos will be taken on Wednesday 27 February. We are having traditional class group photos from Prep through to Year 6. Children need to wear their formal uniforms on the day. Beautiful hair, clean uniforms, the correct socks and shiny shoes will be the order of the day.
