Welcome to Term 4 and everything we will experience in the nine weeks left of school. This is the busiest term of the year and culminates in the Prep – Year 2 and Year 3 – 6 concert nights in the last week of the school year.
Preparations are already underway and we believe these concerts will close the year off with some lovely memories of 2014.
Both concerts will be outdoors this year with the hired stage and lighting on the College oval providing a family friendly atmosphere comfortably sitting on picnic rugs or folding chairs enjoying the food, entertainment and a general sense of Christmas joy.
“Time to Shine”: Talent Quest
Our Legacy Cup Competition for Term 4 is the “Time to Shine” talent quest. Students have been preparing their item and nominating their names and what they will do this week.
We will be having auditions over the next couple of weeks and the finals will be held at the end of October. We love this talent quest and it gives our students a chance to shine.
Student Led Conferences
Thank you for attending the Student Led Conferences in the last week of Term 3. We have had some excellent feedback from teachers and parents alike and the students really enjoyed the opportunity to share their learning journey with you and set goals for Term 4. Throughout next year these Student Led Conferences will be developed even further and we are confident that they will become even more informative for you as parents/caregivers and will continue to show students that they themselves have a major role to play in “owning” their learning. Learning is not something which is done to them – rather it is something in which they are actively engaged themselves.
Spelling Bee Results from 19 September
Finishing the term with a House Competition and all the excitement of the students supporting their house teams with war cries and applause is a real highlight for everyone. It was a close battle but here are the results:-
Prep – Year 2 – 1st Ararat 2nd Zion 3rd Sinai
Years 3 – 6 – 1st Zion 2nd Sinai 3rd Ararat
How great it is to combine every student’s individual skill development with the challenge of a high stakes house competition to determine the whole team
