Prep sharpened their road safety awareness skills this week. We had a visit from Road Safety Officers, Helenea and Kaylene. The ladies set out a simulation of a pedestrian crossing and spoke about how to be safe when crossing roads. The children were taught about standing behind the yellow “toe line” and then waiting for the whistle from the crossing supervisor to say when it is safe to cross. Everyone had the opportunity to practice this. After the presentation, the children received a sticker and a colouring sheet.
Ask your Preppie if they remember some of the information they were taught. (This is a free service offered by the Department of Transport and Main Roads.)
