What a wonderful day of events that students enjoyed at the Prep to Year 2 Athletics Carnival.
It was one of those perfect Queensland winter days. The sun was shining, a light wind blowing with not a cloud in the sky. 270 students cheered, raced, ran, jumped, threw, flung, tossed, bounced and darted their way around 24 activities throughout the day. The carnival was split into two sections of competitive events being Long Jump, Sprints, Discus and non-competitive events being Shot Put, Tug of War and the Obstacle Course. Students participated in the activities based on gender and Year Level.
After an amazing barbeque for the students which was organised by the P and F, they were ready and fuelled up for the second part of the day. This was structured for students to participate in groups organised by House Team and Year level. Students rotated through 18 tabloid activities that were run by the Year 9 male students as part of their Leadership Program. We couldn’t be more proud of how these young men interacted and participated with our little people of the College.
It was a massive day for students to participate, cheer and race for an entire day. Overall their was one House Team winner after the points from the morning were tallied:
1st. Ararat 80 Points
2nd. Zion 76 Points
3rd. Sinai 60 Points
