Laughter, music, and fun filled the air as best-selling author, musician and performer, Deano Yipadee visited GCC to share his award-winning stories and songs with our Prep – Year 2 students. Deano’s interactive, comedy-filled performance had everyone smiling as he took us on a musical storytelling adventure like no other! 

The Preps were especially excited, having recently read all of the Nee Naw stories – and of course, Deano included their favourite Nee Naw characters and song. The Prep performance had it all – a conga line that turned the seating area into a dance floor, laughter from start to finish, and a few sleepy heads after all that fun, gently soothed by Deano’s calming rendition of Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star at the end of his performance.

The delight of seeing staff and students involved, students let loose with water guns, surprise appearances from the King’s Guard, and some spectacular Grannies made the event truly unforgettable. Deano’s motto of ‘learning with laughter’ shone throughout the performance. It was a wonderful celebration of the joy of reading and a reminder of how stories, songs, and laughter enrich our world.
