P and F News 6 September 2013

  • September 4, 2013

Hello again everyone,

Welcome to Spring! I want to send out a big thank you to Jayne and Jodi for co-ordinating and running our Junior Athletics Carnival sausage sizzle and our Fathers’ Day stall. It is the first time these ladies have run an event for the P and F and they did a great job!  Thanks to all the volunteers who assisted on these days as well.  It’s fabulous to know that there are always a faithful bunch of people willing to step up when it counts.

I want to congratulate the Arts Department on a fabulous showcase evening two weeks ago. It’s an event that was well supported by the school and showcased our very talented students.  This week the P and F have agreed to fund the purchase of an upright piano to help the Arts Department continue their excellent work and we hope all students will benefit from this purchase.  Stay tuned for photos once it arrives!

From me to you Ladies evening:  11 October.  This night is coming up fast!  Please spread the word and purchase tickets.  They are available at the office for $15 and will be available on the night for $20. Please find below an introduction to another mums participating in the walk to end cancer.

Have a great fortnight! Blessings, Alaina Westaway

My name is Desiree and my beautiful daughter Nikita Hazzard is in Grade 1.  I am proud to be a team member of “Making Strides”. As you are all aware “Making Strides” is a group of six local mums who are raising funds to help End Women’s Cancers and are walking 60Km on the weekend of 26 and 27 October.  The P and F have been very kind to host a “FROM ME TO YOU” ladies night to help our team reach our fundraising target.

Cancer is such a terrible disease and I would love nothing more than to be able to tell my daughter and all the ladies of this world that they have found a cure.   We all know someone who has been affected by cancer so let us all help and try to find a solution.    Any fundraising is a community effort and I must say the Glasshouse community has been fantastic. We should all be so proud of our little piece of the world.

We have raised $13 900 to date so we are well on the way to our $15 000 target.   Thank you once again and hope to see you on the 11 October.
