This term students in Year 3 have been promoting and supporting Operation Christmas Child as part of their History, Technology and Christian Studies integrated unit of work.
Operation Christmas Child (OCC) is a project run by Samaritan’s Purse who partners with local churches in developing nations to reach out to children by providing gift-filled shoe boxes while at the same time sharing the gospel and the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ.
The shoebox appeal was held for three weeks and many people got involved. We saw so many happy faces coming to pick up a shoebox and bring it back filled to the brim with wonderful presents for children in need. Over the course of the three weeks, we managed to collect a total of 177 shoeboxes. This is a huge effort from the families of GCC and we are so grateful for your support.
It has been an amazing journey to be a part of and all the students learnt the importance of giving to others and being thankful for what we have.
On behalf of the Year 3 student and teachers, we would like to thank you for your support and we are so overwhelmed by the generosity of spirit shown by everyone.
