Chloe Dunford and Caitlin Moore swim length after length in training and this weekend they got to test out their fitness and speed against the best distance swimmers in Queensland. The 2017 McDonald’s Queensland Open Water Swimming Championships were held at Lake Kawana in wet and cold conditions and the girls both swam in 2.5 km races. Chloe swam in the 15 years and older competition and had a great swim finishing in second place behind a very fast and experienced swimmer. Caitlin swam in the 14 year age group which was a very competitive age group. She swam well and placed seventh which was a great effort in her first 2.5km Open Water swim.
Both Chloe and Caitlin finished in the top ten placings of the whole 2.5 km field among 59, 13 – 15-year-old swimmers, which was a fantastic result.
We congratulate the girls on these great swims.
