After the torrential rain of 2022’s Open Day, Saturday’s blue skies and dazzling sunshine were a welcome change that drew in the crowds. Our campus was buzzing with excitement as families, students, staff, and friends gathered to celebrate and experience the vibrant atmosphere.
We also experienced a lot of new families visiting us this year and some were queuing for tours 15 minutes before the event began! Their interest in our College and their commitment to joining our community is a testament to the reputation we have built over the years. It is truly humbling to witness families travelling from different parts of the country with the intention of being closer to Glasshouse Christian College. Their trust and belief in us reinforce our commitment to providing a high-quality, faith-based education.
Our tour guides were often flat-out keeping up with the demand and I’m very proud of the job they did. I would also like to extend my gratitude to our Student Voice, student leaders, greeters, musicians and performers.
To our incredible GCC families, your unwavering support and active involvement were truly heartening. Seeing so many of our current families attend Open Day reinforced the sense of belonging that defines our community. A special mention is due to our dedicated P and F volunteers, whose commitment and hard work in running the barbecue not only provided delicious food but also raised funds for the College. Their exemplary dedication serves as a remarkable example for our students to follow.
Our staff worked tirelessly behind the scenes and for some, preparations began many months ago. You would have all seen how beautiful our grounds looked on the day and, like me, can only imagine how many hours/days/months it took the Property Team to provide this remarkable result. This is just the tip of the iceberg of what makes our Open Day so special.
Once again, I extend my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you who contributed to making Open Day an outstanding event. Your presence and enthusiasm exemplify the strength and unity of our Glasshouse Christian College community.
