Five girls qualified for the Glasshouse District Softball teams which competed in Redcliff at the Sunshine Coast Regional Championships. Nicole Morris, Chelsea Lewis and Lilli-Jean Cruise all played in the Senior team and won the Regional title. They won every game comfortably and were undefeated in the entire competition with only two runs batted in against them. They faced Caboolture in the final and won 11-1. What a record! Chelsea was named the Most Improved Player in the Senior Team after the coaches noticed big improvements to her throwing and catching technique during training and in the competition.
Olivia McKenzie and Lara Korzynski were in the Junior team which was quite young and less experienced but played great softball also. They finished first after the round robin portion of the carnival with two draws and four wins from six games. They faced Nambour in the final and were defeated 8-3. Olivia McKenzie was given the Coach’s Award for the way she acted on advice given to her. She always listened and applied skills to her game.
