A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down…
Students in Years 9, 11 and 12 Music had the wonderful opportunity of going to see the musical production of Mary Poppins currently showing at QPAC. From the music, to the dancing and stage production, students were wowed by the energy and colour on stage and singing and dancing. This was a culmination of their studies of Music for the Stage and music as a narrative.
The Year 12 music students even found a community piano to play entertaining people as they walked by.

HinterWonderland Beerwah Street Festival
Last Saturday, students in Wind Orchestra, Symphonic Winds, Percussion Ensemble, Jazz Combo, Big Band and Hip Hop dance troupe represented the College at the Beerwah HinterWonderland street festival. This was a great event showcasing to the community our bands and dance troupes. There were lots of people in the audience cheering the groups on. It has been so enjoyable to once again perform to crowds and show parents and friends what they have been rehearsing on a weekly basis. We are looking forward to the performance opportunities in 2023.

SCYO Success!

Recently a number of our students auditioned for the Sunshine Coast Youth Orchestra. Our College music programs have had the privilege of working with them this year and exposed them to the youth orchestra’s programs. A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to Oliver Dalleay on bass clarinet, William Reid on trumpet and Oscar Landrie on cello for successfully making it into the Sinfonia and Concert Band programs. Miss Hilton and their instrumental teachers are extremely proud of these three boys and the passion they have for their chosen instruments.
