Several teachers and staff took up the challenge to run in the Mooloolaba Marathon Festival. What a celebration of courage as more than 6000 keen runners and walkers took to the streets of Mooloolaba and Maroochydore early on Sunday morning.

Josh Bennett, Ryan Carolissen and Tuija Hast ran the half marathon, Matt Beattie, Jacq Vreeling and Rhiannan Vreeling ran the 10km race and Wendy Stott and Christian Jensen ran the 5km race. Several students also participated in the 2km event with Celia Aldridge joining them.

It was fantastic to see so many people with varying fitness backgrounds ranging from Commonwealth Games medalists to brand new runners competing in the variety of events available. It would be great to have more staff, students and families participating in this event next year. What a great family challenge if you would care to accept it!
