The last week of the term was finals week for the Year 6 and 7 Interschool sport teams playing Touch Football.
Teams had played over the two previous weeks and every team was improving with each game played. The yr 7 teams played in the A divisions and girls and boys had both had some wins, losses and draws. The Year 7 boys showed great individual skills.
The Year 6 girls won 3 games, drew 2 and lost 1 game working their way into the final with a fantastic win against St Micheals in the last round robin game beating them 4 – 2. They then played St Michaels again in the final but were beaten in this game 1 – 3 when they lacked a little team cohesion under pressure. Congratulations to the girls who finished in a well deserved second place.
The Year 6 boys showed some skills in both attack and defence and some great tries were scored with some coming from set plays. The boys won 4 games and lost 2 to play off against Glasshouse Mountains State School for 3rd or 4th position. The boys also suffered under competition pressure and lost this game finished the competition in 4th place.
We would like to thank Mrs Desley Palmer for refereeing every Year 6 boys’ game which allowed Mr Costin to manage the team. It was fantastic to have a very competent referee and her knowledge of touch football was a great asset to the team.
